Empowering the Vision [ENVISION] has been facilitating recruitment of Tibetans to Ritinjali’s Second Chance School since 2012. This is a 16 month residential vocational training and basic education opportunity in New Delhi free of cost for male Tibetans from the age of 16-25 who are unable to pursue regular education.
The main objective of Ritinjali’s Second Chance School is to reintegrate young people who have lost the opportunity for formal education into social and working life by offering them a wide spectrum of good-quality training opportunities which are suited to their individual needs. Young people will emerge from the School equipped and empowered with the necessary knowledge and capabilities to be able to make informed choices about one’s own future and vocational qualifications that will enable them to gain meaningful employment with companies and businesses or even set up small businesses of their own. Besides, it infuses in them a new sense of self-worth, spurring them to aim higher resulting in a marked increase in their sense of purpose, direction and responsibility towards their future, their families, their communities and themselves.
