My name is Tenzin Palden. I was born in 1995 at my hometown Bhandra Shechak(Norgayling settlement). I have always had the passion for sketch and painting since school and as a result of which I chose to join Arts stream after Class X. After graduating from high school with 75%, I decided to further my interest in arts by pursuing a degree in the College of Arts and Animation at Haus Khaus, New Delhi. In 2016, with few other like-minded students with similar interest, we founded the Tibetan Art Group (T.A.G) wherein we posted our artworks on popular social media networks. We were able to create an art piece to thank His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama and also created wall paintings for some cafes including the Silk route café in Majnu ka Tilla. Despite being a nascent group, our clients were truly impressed with our work.
Since my end goal has always been about learning 3D animation and Visual Effects (VFX) and becoming a professional in the field, I wanted to further refine my interest by pursuing a short term course in MAYA PRO or Autodesk 3D Computer Graphics Application after graduating from Bachelor in Fine Arts (BFA) in August last year.
I wanted to pursue a short-term course in Autodesk MAYA, a software application for animation creativities and found MAAC based in Rohini East, New Delhi. I have been studying at the Institute since October 27th, 2018 and will continue for another six months. The first two weeks of the course was mostly out the door as we were made to engage in exposure activities like attending an art exhibition by Mr Umesh Kuman Saxena at Triveni Kala Sangam, New Delhi, and National Modern Art Gallery. We were also taken to the main Office of Delhi National Doordarshan, a TV station under the auspice of the Government of India.
In the past three months, I was taught to create basic models like a chair, tables, lamps and interior home designs with 3D touch and 3D texturing before diving later into UV mapping, another process to wrap a 2D image texture into a 3D mesh. I have now learnt to create my own texture using my knowledge on Adobe Photoshop as some texture cannot be found online. It is fulfilling to be learning a lot at this Institute and I am truly grateful to Empowering the Vision Project (ENVISION) for financing this course for me. Without their financial assistance, I would not be able to pursue my passion for 3D Animation and VFX. My dream is to work in big studios like Disney, Dreamwork, Pixler etc since childhood and I am going to work hard to make it a reality one day. I also envision of bringing VFX effects in Tibetan movies and other visual arts in the future. Meanwhile, I am learning as much as I can out of this course.
