Kelsang Tsomo is currently the CEO of ThirdPole VentureLink Pvt. Ltd – a venture company with a farsighted objective of developing Tibetan and Himalayan communities and helping them become self-sustainable through projects in the field of agriculture, real estate and service portfolio.
Kelsang’s family hails from Gyangtse, Central Tibet. She was brought up in Nepal where she started her education too. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Banking and Finance in 2009 from Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu. In August 2013 she was selected to study in the US for a Master’s Degree under Tibetan Scholarship Program. In 2015, she graduated from State University of New York, with an MBA in Finance and Management Consulting.
Kelsang began her professional career at Namgyal Higher Secondary School, Kathmandu, Nepal in 2009 where she taught the English language to Himalayan students. While doing her Masters in the US, she had also interned with The Tibet Fund head office in NYC in the summer of 2015. Upon return, she joined the Tibet Fund field office in Dharamsala, India to work on Tibetan Health System Capacity Strengthening Project in the capacity of Deputy Project Director. Back in Kathmandu Nepal, before she began the current job she also worked with The Tibet Fund as Monitoring and Evaluation consultant for six months.
Since June 2017 she has been working as the CEO of ThirdPole VentureLink Pvt. Ltd. The organization just less than a year in business strives to work through the model of extensive collaboration among stakeholders, private entities, civil bodies and government sector entities.
Kelsang Tsomo has been guiding and extending support to Tibetan students whether in Nepal or India on career and academic aspirations. She is also supporting young Tibetans whether at ThirdPole VentureLink or through organizations in her network by offering internship opportunities and mentoring them.
Kelsang’s perfect weekend plan includes a cup of coffee, with music to her ears, doing probably a wobbly sketch and playing with her two lovely pet dogs.
