The Tibet Fund is a non-profit, nongovernmental charitable organization that works to preserve the cultural and national identity of the Tibetan people through projects supporting education, health, economic self-sufficiency, culture preservation, and community development.
The Tibet Fund is recruiting employees for various positions on a new 5-year program funded by USAID. Selected applicants are likely to become excellent candidates to continue working with The Tibet Fund after five years. The opening positions are as follow:
- Monitoring and Evaluation Officers
Location: Kathmandu and Dharamsala. Hiring From Nepal and India.
Salary and Benefits: INR 20,000-30,000 per month or higher depending on qualifications and past experience. Additional benefits will include housing allowance, health insurance, and annual bonus subject to performance.
Duration: 5 years project (at least 2-3 years of commitment)
Roles and responsibilities
- To monitor, evaluate, and report on program activities on a continuous basis.
- Day to day responsibilities include developing data collection tools; making site visits to collect data; organizing and storing data securely in hard copy and electronic form; creating data management tools in Excel; analysing monitoring data and preparing reports on activity progress, findings, lessons, and success stories
- MEOs (Monitoring and Evaluation Officers) will be key members of the Program Monitoring Team and will develop collaborative working relationships with partner organization staff, particularly at the CTA and Snow Lion Foundation in Nepal.
- MEOs will work closely with the TTF program director, deputy program director, TTF program officers, and key partner organization staff.
Qualifications:
Bachelor or Master degree, preferably in a field related to development studies, management, or one of the program’s focus areas.
Skills:
- Strong writing English and Excel spreadsheet skills
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
- Results-oriented self-starter with ability to learn quickly
- Ability to take initiative, work independently when needed, and work effectively as part of a team
Preferences:
- Past experience in non-profit development work, in particular with monitoring and evaluation

- Willingness to travel independently and frequently within India or Nepal

- Facilitating smooth coordination of technical support provided by external consultants
