Shiv Nadar School, Noida is looking for a Special Need Educator to work with children with special needs in the
school which includes:
- Observation within the mainstream setting
- Observation of children in individual/1:1 setting to understand the needs of SEN children
- Assessment of children’s ability levels and their consequent placement based on the assessment reports
- Goal planning with clearly defined long term goals and short term goals
- Making IEPs of children with special needs after consultation with mainstream teachers, special educators, paraprofessionals working with the child even outside of school, parents and other person involved with the child
- Making home based plan
- Liasoning with the school counselor for home visits to get accurate information about the child
- Coordinating with the team of professionals working with the child within the school setting, eg- PE staff, co-
scholastic staff & others for the purpose of integrating the child into the mainstream for all co-curricular activities
- Teacher empowerment sessions to create awareness of the child’s difficulty and how to deal with the issues
within the mainstream classes
- Working in partnership with parents
- Monthly reports on the progress made by the child
- Develop a functional curriculum covering the vital areas of development social skill building, language and
communication and self-help skills.
- Conduct specific training sessions for special educators and mainstream teachers if required to meet the needs of
special children in alignment/ consultation with / the Core Curriculum team to strengthen and establish SEN /Early
Intervention in School.
- Maintain records and documents as required by the SEN department.
- Attend in-service training days on the days stipulated for staff training by the school.
- Participate in regular SEN meetings with special educators to discuss children and their progress and share
inputs where necessary
