Name: Kalsang Rinchen
Kalsang Rinchen is a Filmmaker and journalist. In 2008, Kalsang made a documentary film ‘Phantoms of Chittagong’ on Special Frontier Force in India as a dissertation thesis for his degree in media production. He also runs his own film production company by the name of Loma Films.
An alumni of Tibetan Children’s Village, Dharamsala, he currently works as the Chief Editor of Phayul.com, an English-language news site created in 2001 by a young Tibetan in exile and run by Tibetans in India. He finished BA in Economics from St. Xavier’s College, Ahmedabad and completed Masters in Communication Studies from MS University, Baroda.Prior to working with Phayul.com, he studied film and media production under the Tibetan Scholarship Program for two years at the UB, SUNY at Buffalo. He worked with Department of Information and International Relations, CTA for five and half years. He has also worked as the Editor of Tibet.net, the official website of the Tibetan government in exile.
